The EPIC Care Community is for children and young people who are in care, in aftercare, or have care-experience.

It’s a space to meet others with similar experiences, take part in activities, and get involved in ways that feel right for you.

Care Community activities can include:

Fun social events and trips. 

Upskilling and learning new things.  

Working on campaigns that matter to you. 

Contributing to EPIC’s research projects & policy work. 

Creative media projects and other crafty activities! 

Joining an EPIC Youth Council.

Activities vary throughout the year and are shaped by the ideas and priorities of the group.

Joining the Care Community

If you are under 26 and are in care, in aftercare, or have care experience, you can join the EPIC Care Community.

EPIC’s promise to young people in the Care Community

EPIC is committed to making sure the Care Community is:

  • A place where your experiences and views are listened to and valued
  • An opportunity to learn about your rights and build confidence and skills
  • A chance to have fun, meet new people, and build connections along the way

Your participation is always your choice, and you decide how involved you want to be.

EPIC Info Session

Learn about EPIC’s work with children and young people, and the supports and opportunities available. This can be requested by young people, staff teams, foster carers, or students.

If you’re aged 18 or over and have care-experience, you can take part in advisory and participation work with EPIC and national decision‑makers.

EPIC’s Youth Engagement and Participation Team

We create spaces, events, activities, and workshops that support the well-being and development of care-experienced young people.

We focus on making things fun, giving young people a chance to express themselves, and providing opportunities for their voices to be heard. We also run EPIC’s Care Community and Youth Council.
